KIM Pears

Originally from England, Kim was hooked after her first yoga class, held in a Preston school hall that smelled of sweat and lost property.
When she emigrated to New Zealand, she decided to train with Ashram Yoga in Ohui, becoming a qualified yoga instructor in 2012. After teaching at The Arts Village and the Cancer Society, she relocated to Picton in 2015 where she continued to teach and ran a Yoga in Nature series for the Department of Conservation.
She returned to Rotorua in 2019 where she took a break from teaching yoga to study at the University of Waikato, recently submitting her creative thesis as part of her Master of Professional Writing.
She is published in Poetry New Zealand (2022) and Mayhem Journal (2021).
Teaching again since February 2022, Kim loves to share what she’s learned and is passionate about supporting students to find ease, calm and self-acceptance in their practice.
And sometimes in her classes, there is poetry. And dancing…
